Gavin’s main research interests focus on political communication. He is interested in Chinese social media (WeChat), questions of social media ecosystem, oversea usage, digital privacy, and diaspora research. Gavin has a background in different types of projects, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data, and is proficient in the operation of different programming languages and software. He also teaches at different universities, including the University of Melbourne and RMIT University. 

Gavin is also an FPS gamer, a manga lover, a crazy LEGO collector, and a fan of Thai boxing.
